Wood: Good game breakers

Prop Paul Wood takes us through Monday night's win over his hometown team Wigan and looks ahead to tomorrow's encounter with Bradford at Odsal.
On playing in those high intensity matches like that earlier this week Paul said: "It's enjoyable. It's what you build up to and you want to play in those games. For us, Wigan over the last few years have been our biggest rivalry and some of our toughest matches. It's really good Wigan week; I always get a lot of banter, being a Wigan lad, from family and friends. I love that build up to it; it relaxes me throughout the week and gives me something else to focus on. Tuesday morning was the best though; I fired out about 50 text messages to a few Wigan fans, they weren't happy but they all credited the game and the way both sets of players put their bodies on the line. It was great advert for the game."
Paul highlights the character shown by the Wolves side to come from behind and steal the win.
"We ground a win out and we got into the arm wrestle of the game. We didn't give up and it showed some character. I think the only disappointing thing to take from the game was that some people say Wigan weren't at full strength but I thought the Wigan players were fantastic and pushed us all the way; when both teams are fully fit the intensity is just as we saw on Monday night.... You play what's in front of you and that's the sport. It was a really good atmosphere and credit to the fans and both teams they did Rugby League proud."
The tough forward is expecting a similar battle tomorrow afternoon on the road at Bradford.
"It's always a tough game at Bradford. We've had some good success there over last few years and we always take good following. Hopefully we'll get the good weather as it will suit both styles of football that we play. I think Bradford will play an expansive game against us and they have some really good game-breakers in Jarrod Sammut and Brett Kearney. I think it will be a really good game, a tough game; they are probably not on the best form having lost three on the bounce now I think and we've come off the back of a very intense game against Wigan so it's got all the right things to be a good game and a close fought contest. Hopefully we'll come away with the two points.
"We always seem to take a good following to Bradford. It's one of the unusual grounds where the pitch is set in and very low down with the wind swirling round but it is a great atmosphere."
