Wolves for Wales
Super League is set to make another first, in a historic move the Round 13 match between the Wolves and the Broncos will be played at Rodney Parade, the home of Newport Rugby Union club.Commenting on the announcment Super League Chief Executive Ian Robson said, "We are delighted to be once again showcasing the Tetley's Bitter Super League to a new audience. I am sure sports fans in South Wales will be very impressed by what they see.""Staging this match will help the ongoing process of building an increased national profile for the competition and the sport of rugby league."Newport's chairman is David Watkins, a former League star with Salford, Great Britain and Wales, commented, "It will be great for the people of Newport to see the skills of these two teams.""I watched St Helens vs Wigan and Warrington vs St Helens on Sky Sports over Easter and was hugely impressed. The entertainment levels and crowd participation was tremendous."The original round 13 match was scheduled to be played at Leicester Tigers ground, Welford Road, but has been switched to avoid a potential clash with the Barabarians touring side.
