Wolfie For Lancashire!
Wolves mascot "Wolfie" has won the right to be a team mascota for the forthcoming "Origin" game, along with Ronnie the Rhino, Bull Man and St. Bernard. The four cuddly characters topped a poll carried out by "Rugby League World" magazine which asked young fans to name which club mascots they thought should represent Yorkshire and Lancashire. Two mascots for each team had to be found and the results of the poll mean that Ronnie the Rhino (Leeds Rhinos) and Bull Man (Bradford Bulls) will represent Yorkshire while Wolfie (Warrington Wolves) and St. Bernard (St Helens) will represent Lancashire at Headingley on Tuesday 5th June. All four mascots will wear specially designed Yorkshire and Lancashire shirts on the night of the game and will be involved in special promotions in the build up.All the names of the children who voted via "Rugby League World" magazine went into a draw and the two lucky winners get the chance to lead out the teams on the night of the big game. The Lancashire winner aged nine is Conor Dean - a Wolves fan from Haughton Green - and he added the following comment alongside his vote, "Wolfie would be a great mascot for Lancashire because he does not like the sheep in the Yorkshire Dales."
