Willie wants Wolves for World Cup
Wolves' first team coach Willie Poching has urged the Warrington fans to pack out The Halliwell Jones Stadium for the match between New Zealand and Samoa on October 27.
The Southern Hemisphere rivals go head to head at Rugby League World Cup 2013 and tickets are already shifting at an impressive rate.
"I'm looking forward to watching matches at the tournament, and hoping that the people over here who don't get to see these superstars regularly snap up their tickets and get to a game," said Poching.
"I hope they adopt a side for the game at the Halliwell Jones and I hope they get behind the England team.
"I've been over here for a long time and I'm a big fan of the Super League, and any time the England team does well it provides a big boost to the sport over here.
"I hope it's a great competition and we see some fantastic football."
The game in Warrington will be a truly special encounter for Poching due to his close associations with both nations.
The former Leeds and Wakefield player represented Samoa at Rugby League World Cup 1995, but was born in New Zealand, began his domestic career in the country, and even represented the Kiwis at the Halliwell Jones in 1995.
"I don't want to tie my colours to either mast at the moment, so I'll be supporting Rugby League first and foremost," he smiled.
"I saw the game between Tonga and Samoa earlier this year and it was pretty much what I expected.
"There were a lot of fireworks, a lot of tries, and both teams threw the ball around a lot. And I think we can expect pretty much the same for the game at the Halliwell Jones.
"Samoa will have a very strong squad at Rugby League World Cup 2013. You can go through the names who ply their trade over here, but then there are a number of guys in the NRL too.
"But you'd probably put your money on New Zealand being the top qualifier," he continued.
"They'll be coming in confident and they haven't shied away from making changes to their squad, to their captaincy and in other areas.
"It should be an outstanding match between two very talented teams. I'll be there soaking it all up, and I hope the Wolves fans join me."
