Waterhouse: Looking Forward To It

Second rower Trent Waterhouse is enjoying the start of his second season in primrose and blue and is expecting a good year ahead for the game.

"I think it's been an outstanding start to the year in Super League. There's been some close, thrilling games and some tough hit outs. We knew it was going to be a tough start for us with our draw being pretty hard at the start of the year. We've played some good footy but I still think we've got plenty of improvement in us."

Looking back at last week's game Trent said: "It's good fun. We almost expected it as they are always tough physical games against them (Catalan); they've got a really strong pack. It got a bit spiteful there at stages but it would have been an entertaining game to watch and it was good to come out the other end with a win.

"They always come and play and have a good side. They throw the ball around, have a big pack and some good fast backs there as well so it was good to get that win and look to improve again this week when we go to Hull."

Tomorrow will be the first of two trips to Hull in two weeks.

"It's always tough going to Hull. Last year we went twice and never got a win; we got a draw and KR rolled us so it will be a tough couple of weeks but we are looking forward to it.

"Hull FC have got pretty passionate fans who get behind them. It's something to look forward to and is a great stadium to play at, the KC. I remember last year there was a really good atmosphere up there so hopefully we'll go there and improve on last week.

"They are pretty solid across the board. They finished off last year well and are heading in the right direction this year. They rolled St Helens last week so will be coming into the game with confidence so it's going to be a tough one."

The conditions have been difficult to train and play in throughout the early rounds so how has Aussie Trent been finding it?

"There have been tough conditions with the ground being pretty boggy with a lot of snow and rain but it's sunny today so hopefully we've come out the other side and it will warm up. That would be good for us as we like to play an expansive game so it will be better for us when it's dry."
