Waterhouse: A Taste For The Big Games
Trent Waterhouse enjoyed a successful first season with the Wolves last year and with this experience behind him is now preparing for his second campaign.
"Last year was a great year for us. I really enjoyed it. Coming into this year I now know what to expect. We've been training pretty hard and I'm looking forward to the new season and playing some good footy for the Wolves."
This week sees the team warm-weather training in Tenerife as part of their pre-season preparations.
"The warm weather training camps give you the chance to bond, work really hard together and enjoy each other's company. It's a great build-up to the start of the year."
Last season saw the Wolves push themselves to the limit, finishing second in the league, winning the Cup Final and reaching the Grand Final at Old Trafford. This success will drive the team forward into the 2013 season.
"(It was great) to play at such great venues, in grounds that stand with so much history. It was a shame not to win the last one but Wembley was amazing and lived up to all expectations. Once you've got a taste for those games you want to get back there and it's a big goal for us."
As one of the more experienced members of the squad, both in Australia and England, Trent can see the potential coming through the club.
"There's a great crop of young talent coming through. I think it's a credit to the club and the junior development that they've not had to go out and buy players. The club is looking in great shape for the years to come, with a great junior set-up which I see as the key to being a successful club."
