Walters stated that he had come to Warrington, specifically to play with Alfie and was looking forward to the challenge of bringing silverware to Wilderspool. At a Q&A session at the club on Wednesday 17th January 2001, Head Coach Darryl Van de Velde hinted towards his team combinations for the new season."Kevin is likely to start with Alf, bringing the duo back together."When asked which position Lee Briers would take, he replied, "Lee Briers like all the players will have to prove themselves for a place on the team. Lee can branch out to other positions, there is always the possibility of full-back or centre. Who knows, you will have to wait and see."Darryl is keeping his options open and the fans in suspense to what his chosen 13 will be. All the new signings for Warrington Wolves, Kevin Walters, Steve Georgallis, David Kidwell, Martin Masella, Rob Smyth and Jerome Guisset are multi talented and can play various positions. The off-season at Warrington Wolves is shaping up well with the player's just finishing a team building exercise on a mini camp in Plymouth with the Commandos and jetting off to Lanzarote on the 25th January 2001 for warm weather training.
