Step Out
Step Out with Wolfie was held as a follow-on to ITV's Britain on the Move campaign's 'Strut Your Strip' which took place on National Walking Day. The aim was to raise awareness of Bowel Cancer- the UK's second biggest cancer killer, and rat the same time raise money for Lynn's Bowel Cancer Campaign.
The event involved supporters donning their Warrington Wolves shirts and joining Wolfie on the pitch at The Halliwell Jones Stadium and walk at least 4 laps to complete a mile.
Step out with Wolfie also incorporated aspects of the Fit Kidz programme, providing opportunities to participate in Tri Golf, Box Fit, and various activities involving the Wolves' SMART Sports Wall. There was also an exhibition by stunt cyclists, and the presence of stalls from the PCT's Food and Health, Oral Health, Healthy Lifestyles teams, and the Borough Council's Strategic Transportation team who were on hand with advice about cycling and safety. All participants were given a free pedometer to keep track of how many steps they complete.
