It took just 43 seconds for Warington to stamp their mark on this game as Declan Patton dipped his shoulder a couple of times and found himself with a clear path to the try line. Lewis Charnock added the extras. The Wolves then found themselves unable to complete their sets and Salford came back a little before a second try concluded the first half scoring. Liam Sullivan took the ball left to right, passed to Ash Cox who fed winger Chris Hunt and a short dash to the line made the scores 0-10 at the break.
The unforgiving sun and hard pitch was taking its toll and several players from both sides made use of the physio, a pretty lady who inspired the coaches to feign injury too! Seven minutes after the restart Patton found Luke Walker out wide for a try that Patton converted. A lovely move saw the ball pass through the hands of Alan King, Walker and Cox before Charnock scored. Immediately from the break Cox took the ball up to the 20m mark and Robert Hayward ran it from right to left and onto the tryline for a great solo effort. Next it was the turn of Ryan Mercer to power his way through the defence and on to score. Charnock kicked over the goal. The scoring was completed on the stroke of time when Patton and Walker combined to put Andre Savelio in. A comprehensive victory set up with the tackling efforts of Callum Wright and Andre Savelio.
Salford U13 SA - 6
Warrington U13 SA - 42
The Wolves enjoyed such an abundance of possession at the start of this game that Salford struggled to get a hold on the contest. In the first eleven sets only one was in Salford's hands and they had conceded sixteen points. Jack Green had weaved through to score the opening try. Jon Rigby drew and passed to Jamie Hodgekiss for the next. Rigby then chased down his kick through and boomed the defender who spilled the ball into the waiting hands of Ben Moores for a touchdown. Matt Dowman converted two of these tries. Salford established a foothold with a neat converted try but almost immediately the Wolves replied when Moores and Jordan Anders combined to set up Alex Ryder and Dowman kicked over the extras to make the score at half time 6-22.

National Volunteer Manager, Kelly Barrett, once again confirmed the importance of recognising the hard work and commitment of those people who work within the game purely for the love of it.
'We need to encourage more volunteers to be part of our game. People can get satisfaction by giving time to something they enjoy and I would like to offer my grateful thanks to each and every one of them ' without them we would not have Rugby.'
