Scholarship to Academy
Warrington Wolves have announced that five of their scholarship lads have graduated to the Academy this year. Nick Owen, Jamie Durbin, Tommy Grundy and Micahel Govin have all come through the scholarship scheme from U14's, U15's and U16's and have now signed for the club on Academy forms.Nick Owen is a local player from Woolston Rovers ARLFC who has played for the town team from the U13's team to the U16's. Nick is a fullback with a lot of pace and confidence.Mike Brown has played for Crosfields ARLFC and Woolston Rovers ARLFC. Mike is a loose forward with excellent ball skills.Jamie Durbin is a scrum-half from Houlton Hornets. Jamie is a talented player who is currently playing for England Rugby Union Schoolboys U16's.Tommy Grundy is a big strong centre and second row from Leigh Rangers ARLFC. Tommy has good skills combined with pace.Mike Govin, also from Leigh Rangers ARLFC, is a half-back/hooker with good skills and pace.Scholarship players are the future of the Academy and eventually the first team. The Academy is supported by local business Phill Williams & Co.
