Ratchford: Finishing Touches
Stefan Ratchford made the move over to the Wolves last season making his mark on the side with 26 appearances.
Now entering his second year with the Warrington side he is enjoying pre-season with his team-mates.
"It's nice to have a break at the end of the season but once all the lads are back in you get the banter going around the gym again, so it's always good to be back.
"I've been lucky enough to go on about six different pre-season trips but this will be my first one to Tenerife. I believe it's supposed to be a really tough camp but a really good one as well. I think three other teams have been this year so there's really good facilities. If we can get some skills done in some decent weather it'll put the finishing touches to what's been a tough pre-season."
When the team return from their warm-weather training, preparations will continue ahead of Ben Westwood's Testimonial game. This will provide the players with a final run-out ahead of the first round of Super League the following week.
"It'll be a tough game against Wigan. They are a really good side with a few new players and some changes so it will stand us in good stead leading us into the game the week after."
And looking to the season ahead.
"I can't wait to get started. It will take a lot to emulate last year but hopefully we can do, and go one better in the Grand Final and finish off with both trophies rather than just the one. As last year, hopefully I can get in the starting 17 and then see how it goes from there.
"We've not brought anyone in from outside we've just promoted the younger lads. A few who were eying up the squad this last year have come into the top 25 so it's going to be tough. They got their chance to play a few games last year so they've got that experience and will want to play more keeping some of the older lads on their toes. Everyone will be playing at 100% every week to keep their place in the squad."
