Players Awards
At a gala presentation evening at the Park Royal Hotel hosted by Sky Sports Eddie Hemmings the Warrington Wolves annual Player Awards evening went off in fine style.First Team Player of the Year went to Andrew Gee who gladly accepted the accolade. Under-21s player of the year was presented by Paul Cullen, who had attended especially, the award went to local lad Jamie Stenhouse. Academy player of the Year was presented by Paul Darbyshire, ex-Warrington star and memeber of the 1990 Wembley squad as well as current Lancashire Academy coach, the award went to Paul Wood. Head Coach Darryl Van de Velde presented Mark Gleeson with the Most Improved Player award.
Mark Forster gained a standing ovation from the packed room as he collected an Outstanding Service Award for his time with the Wolves. Paul Cullen was also very walmy greeted as he also received a sign of appreciation from the club for all of his time and efforts over the years, both as a player and later as a coach.Warrington Sports Holding Chairman Norman Summers also thanked the back room staff at the club for their tireless and unsung work behind the scenes that has keept the club going over the years, in particular Sheila Ford and Doreen Lindop who have been with the club for well over 20 years.
