WOLVES FOUNDATION WELCOMES UNILEVER
The Foundation are delighted to announce that Unilever have joined their Patron Society. This means that Unilever have committed funding to help support all the work with which The Foundation are involved.
Jane Watson, Community Co-ordinator for Unilever stated, "Unilever aim to make a positive impact in many ways and through The Foundation's diverse programmes linked to Sport, Health and Education, we will be helping to benefit the Warrington Community."
Unilever hope to build on this investment and actively engage with The Foundation through volunteering, fundraising and getting their employees and families involved with the spirit of the Wolves.
Neil Fairbrother, ex-England Cricketer and Foundation Patron, welcomed Unilever's support, "It is great to see such a large organisation based in Warrington supporting its community and employees".
WOLVES LAUNCH PATRON SOCIETY
On Tuesday 12th September, The Wolves Foundation launched their Patron Society to engage local organisations and individuals and inform them about the work which the charity undertakes.
The Foundation boasts Warrington sporting heroes including Roger Hunt, Jonathan Davies and Sid Domic.
Roger Hunt, 1966 World Cup Winner and Foundation Patron, was on hand to explain:
I was asked to become a Patron of The Wolves Foundation last year and was delighted to support their charitable activities. Only last week I visited the stadium, walked the Community Floor and met the staff and fully realised the commitment the Foundation has made to the Community of Warrington. Roger Hunt The work of The Foundation contributes to a healthier society. I believe the combination of sport, education and health can bring about a change in people's behaviour.
The Foundation is looking for organisations and individuals to become Patrons. The first to sign up and show their support was The Cheshire Building Society.
Kevin Mountford, Distribution Director, commented, "We are delighted to be involved with The Foundation, especially as it brings so many different organisations together to deliver educational and sporting opportunities".
These words were supported by Head Teacher of St. Stephen's Primary, Maria McGarry, whose school took part in a whole host of activities on the day. "The Wolves have certainly made a difference in my school. The children really respond to the healthy messages they deliver and many have shown more interest in sport which has also developed their social and team-working skills."
