Jimmy's Low Down

Warrington Wolves' Head Coach James Lowes spoke to Warringtonwolves.com post Saturday's 52 ' 14 defeat to Catalans Dragons on Saturday night in Perpignan.

"Obviously I am not happy with the performance and I take a lot of responsibility for it." Stated Jimmy.

"I put some things in place last week and I didn't quite get it right as it were. The players, no matter what people think, work really hard. Both first half and second half, they were trying to do what I had asked for and it didn't quite come off."

The heat was well in the 90's during the day, but Jimmy didn't feel that was an issue:

"The heat played no factor at all. It's a summer sport and it was just as hot if not hotter down at Harlequins two weeks ago. It was down to tactics and coaching more than anything else."

Catalans whitewashed the Wolves in the first half and took a 38-0 lead in to the break, Jimmy recognised the clinical-ness of the French men:

"They are a very strong Catalan side who rely on playing in the opposition's half. They created a lot of chances they did this week and they did the week before and at the moment they are taking them."

Lowes felt this week more hard work was required:

"We have got to work on a couple of things, of course we have. Hopefully we can try and get it right. I said to the lads after the game we are not going to become worse side in the league over night from last week. We played pretty good we just didn't get it right today and the brunt of that was myself and how I coached this week. I will be working twice as hard this week to put my side right."

"I thought Matty Blythe was a stand out in his first game this year. Also Ben Westwood, he tries and tries and tries. Across the board they worked hard for me but I got it wrong this week."

Warrington travel to Hull FC on Sunday with tickets available now from Wolfware at The Halliwell Jones Stadium. Also, Wolves' Rob Parker escaped a ban for his 'WWE' style tackling, after being cited at Perpignan, last night at the RFL discplinary hearing.
