Rah's Lowdown on Round 2

This week Paul Rauhihi discusses the Bradford game and how training has been this week after a defeat on the lead up to Round 3 v Hull FC.

There's an old saying in Rugby League circles. 'It's a game of two halves', I think that was certainly the case last weekend as we went down to a pretty well drilled enthusiastic Bradford side. Not to say we weren't up for the game as there was definitely plenty of desire from our lads to win knowing it could really set up a positive start to the season. But again as is often seen in this game if you give up too much cheap ball early in the challenge it will come back to punish you. We were well and truly punished in the second half as the errors we had made earlier came back to take its toll on our energy reserves and we began to fall off tackles that we would normally make. Bradford did well to capitalise on those errors and we paid the price in the end. Once again injuries reared its ugly head and not only took one of our players during the match but managed to strike us before the whistle had even blown. To lose class players Martin Gleeson and Vinnie Anderson is going to not only damage our side's preparation but add to our oppositions' confidence, although we coped well for the first 40 minutes we all know Rugby League 'is a game of two halves.'

With the disappointment of Sunday's loss still fresh in our minds Monday morning training is always a hard one to get up for. Luckily the mood was changed with the realization that we are only two games into a very long season and we get the chance to redeem ourselves by getting out against Hull F.C this Sunday. Training this week has been quite positive considering the things we've had to deal with alongside the loss of last week will help for the upcoming game.

Talking with some of the fans this last week I get a little disappointed when they questions players enthusiasm and desire to play. I know that every player that takes the field and every player wanting to take the field are out there to win and to play their best for Warrington regardless. knowing how passionate our fans are and how many of you have primrose and blue pumping through your veins we the players know when we've not only let ourselves down but also our fans, the best thing is that our fans are so loyal and truly believe in our team so will continue to turn up week after week and support the boys who do get to run out in the Warrington jumper and represent the pride of Warrington.

Let's hope for another sunny day this Sunday when we run out against Hull F.C, I've no doubt there'll plenty of screaming fans there to welcome the visitors and cheer on our boys.
