MP to meet with Wolves fans in ParliamentWarrington North MP, Helen Jones will be meeting representatives of Warrington Wolves next Tuesday 19th March in Parliament. The MP has invited the delegation of four to meet her and Lord Hoyle for some refreshments in the Houses of Parliament prior to a meeting with Sports Minister Richard Caborn. The delegation is to meet the Minister to discuss Supporters Direct and Squadbuilder, as the Wolves are the first Super League Club to involve themselves in such initiatives.The MP supported the Wolves campaign to allow Supporters Direct to assist Rugby League clubs when she asked him directly in a Parliamentary Question (21.11.2001) if he "will extend government funding to Supporters Direct to enable them to assist supporters of Rugby League clubs". The Minister confirmed that he was in discussions with the Chairman of Supporters Direct on that issue.Helen Jones said, "I look forward, with Lord Hoyle, to meeting the delegation from the Wolves in Parliament next Wednesday before the accompany them to the briefing with Richard Caborn. The Wolves are leading the way with projects such as Squadbuilder and it is a great opportunity for them to showcasetheir work with the Minister for Sport."
