Wigan Warriors v. Warrington Wolves Friday 2nd March 2001 Kick Off: 8:00PM Warrington Wolves Head Coach, Darryl Van de Velde is looking forward to the start of Tetley's Super League on Friday when the Wolves take on the Wigan Warriors at the JJB Stadium. Darryl commented, "The frame against Wigan is a tough challenge for the lads, it will be a proof of there off season training. The team is going across in a positive frame of mind. This is the first game of Tetley's Super League and the competition is wide open at the beginning, before teams start stamping their mark on the league table." Kevin Walters commented on the prospect of his game in Super League, "It is very exciting, I've played against Wigan before, but never at the new stadium, the JJB. I've also never played against Steve Renouf, only with him at Brisbane. Hopefully he won't run any of my passes!"
