Hodgson: Good To Be Back
Having returned from his off-season in Australia fullback Brett Hodgson is now back in full swing training with his Wolves' teammates ahead of next week's warm-weather training camp in Tenerife.
"Tony gave us time to go back and see our families and there was some trust put in us to do our work back in Australia, so both the Monaghans, Trent Waterhouse and I did some pre-season work back with clubs and individually. We've done the work to get ourselves back here and hopefully get a good start to the season.
"There's nothing like being back with your team with the banter that's still there and situations we can have a laugh at. It's good to be back."
Over the last few seasons more and more of the young players have been progressing through the ranks and with no external signings for 2013 there is a strong mix of youth and experience within the squad. As a seasoned player Brett is impressed with what he's seen so far ahead of the new campaign.
"Some of the kids are training really well and it's just a matter of them, when they get their opportunity, getting out there and showing what they can do, and not letting chances slip away as they may only get a couple during the season. We've got the faith that they'll do the job when they do get that opportunity."
Building on the success of last season Brett outlines the focus year on year.
"We've never set a goal to win championships or to win the Challenge Cup or Super League; we set ourselves the task of playing well, giving ourselves opportunities and I'm sure it will be the same this year."
