Hill: We'll need our A-game
Wolves forward Chris Hill talking to University of Chester student Daniel Fearnley ahead of this afternoon's clash with the team from the capital.
Reflecting on last year's defeat at the hands of London on the road he said: "We got embarrassed there last year and it is something that we don't want to be repeating again this year so we'll all prepare well... It will be really tough. We know that they can turn anyone over on their day; they ran Catalan close at Magic and they played really well. They are good, especially down there, and we will have to be on our A-game."
The team will be looking to build on last week's strong home performance against Salford.
"We knew that we had to get back to 100% and we gave a good 80-minute performance; it was a real boost for the boys and it was a good defensive display if anything, we've still got a bit to do with our attack but - saying that - if you've still got something to do and are scoring 60-odd points it's pretty good."
This week saw Chris and three of his fellow teammates named in the England squad ahead of next week's clash with the Exiles.
"I'm hoping to get into the match-day squad. We'll meet up on Sunday (tomorrow) and go into camp but our sole focus at the minute is just this Saturday (this afternoon), and getting a good win down at London.
"It's (the International Origin) good, especially this year, it's a big year for Rugby League with the World Cup at the end of the year so I think that England need a really good hit-out against the Exiles. There's no better team. It's the best of the rest from the competition and we want to perform really well and hopefully take that into the Rugby League World Cup.
"I just want to lay a marker down on the Exiles and hopefully carry on my form through to the end of the year and hopefully there's a chance to play in the RLWC."
He added, on making the transition from the Championship to challenging for a spot in the Rugby League World Cup: "It's massive and last year playing in the two finals - the Challenge Cup win and the Grand Final - it was crazy and it's still not really soaked in; I'm still riding that wave. It's really good and a lot of the boys are helping me along the way. Micky Higham, Moz (Adrian Morley) and Gaz (Carvell) have really given me a lot of advice and it's paying off."
Chris also emphasised the importance of getting the fans down to both the Exiles game and the Rugby League World Cup games that to be held at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
"Rugby League around here is massive and if we can get a good crowd for the Exiles that will probably roll on into the World Cup games that are around here. I'm sure there will be a few thousand Warrington fans alone coming down to see a few of the boys play."
