Helen Jones a Wire?!
This morning in Warrington, the Wolves mascot Wolfie took a stand to try and win the support of Helen Jones MP for Warrington North. Helen Jones MP is the only MP in Warrington who has not pledged her support to the club's plans for a new stadium. This morning she opened the new Energy Centre on Manchester Road. Ms. Jones was greeted by Wolfie and a band of loyal supporters, who asked her to sign the "Save our Stadium" petition. She kindly brushed the petition aside, but invited a handful of the supporters into the centre to discuss a potential one-on-one meeting with them at a later date. She agreed to put her views to them at this meeting and take theirs into account. Warrington Wolves and the Warrington Guardian have joined forces to launch a petition "Save our Stadium", to rally support for the 121-year old club's stadium plans which have been called into public inquiry by John Prescott, Deputy Prime Minister.
