Girl Power

In 2003, Warrington Wolves received funding for three years from Sport England for the Girl Power project.

The project was a new initiative focusing on Warrington's high school girls and their involvement in physical activity. The target group was girls aged 11-14, as research had shown that this was the age that girls 'dropped out' of participation in sport.

Girl Power aimed to encourage girls to participate in sports and physical activity by providing activities outside of curriculum time and creating pathways into sports within the town.

Many activities have been held over the last three years - after school, during half terms and on match days to encourage girls to 'have a go!'

A big thank you to all who have attended Girl Power sessions, we hope you enjoyed it!!
