Evans: Repay The Faith
Winger Rhys Evans returned to training last week and is enjoying being back in the thick of it.
"It's good to be back. It's nice to get a rest but I also like to get back into it and I'm really enjoying it so far.
"There's not been many changes from last year so there's some good unity within the squad and everyone's enjoying each other's company."
Rhys has been training as part of the first team squad for a number of years now and is pleased to see other young players making the same step up.
"A few lads have pushed up into the training squad, like Gavin Bennion and Gene Ormsby, which is good and hopefully they can do as well as the other lads have over the last couple of years."
Boxing Day will be the first chance for the players to get a run-out ahead of the new season and Rhys, for one, is hoping to get a game.
"I'm looking forward to the Boxing Day game, hopefully I can get picked for that, and obviously warm-weather training in Tenerife as well which will hopefully put us in good stead for the start of next year.
"Pre-season friendlies are massive. You can do things in training but you really need a game environment to test yourself and get back into the full swing."
Next year it is not just the big local derbies against Saints and Wigan that Rhys is looking forward to. When the fixture list came out there was another game of more interest.
"I looked out for the Bradford games as my brother's now gone there on loan. Hopefully he'll get to play and I will as well which would be great!"
The fans play a massive part in the memories of a season and Rhys is looking forward to playing in front of a home crowd in 2013.
"The fans come out in their thousands and support us massively. Hopefully we can repay their faith and put on a really good year."
