Chambo for U21's Coach

Cumbrian prop Gary Chambers has accepted the role of developing the clubs U21's players. Gary has swapped his playing role for a coaching role, taking over from Paul Cullen who went to Whitehaven at the end of Super League V as the head coach. Gary, an amateur who joined the club from Kells in 1988 has enjoyed 12 playing seasons with the club and shared a deserved testimonial with Chris Rudd in 1998. Head Coach Darryl Van de Velde commented, "Gary is a good acquisition for the club in the role of coach and working in community development within the club and there is always a chance for him to play first grade football if the opportunity arises." Gary Chambers commented, "I am looking forward to the challenge, I have been coaching Crosfields Under 18's last season with Chris Rudd. This position is the progression up the ladder and it is going to be an exciting one." The Under 21's will start their training this Saturday under the watchful eye of Gary.
