Briers: Hopefully a good omen
Half-back Lee Briers is currently on the sidelines with a calf strain but having experienced Cup Final success with the Wolves he knows how important this afternoon's fourth-round tie is to kick-start the campaign.
Lee was present at the draw last week when we were drawn out against Keighley for the third successive year.
"With the Super League going on you don't take too much notice until the draw comes and then you start to get nervous thinking about who you are going to get. We are the holders and people will want to take the trophy off us so it's going to be hard to retain but we are up for the fight.
"We're going to go to Keighley; it's a little, compact ground and there will be loads of their fans and from Warrington too so the atmosphere will be electric. It's what the Cup is all about; the little teams have the chance to knock the big teams off, hopefully we won't get knocked out.
"It's going to be a tough one. We went there last year in the same round so I hope it's a good omen. We now know what it's like - the ground, the pitch, the changing rooms - so we are prepared for that. It's not a bad thing, sometimes it's a reality check. It's going to be a hard game, it was last year so we need to put a performance in."
Keighley Cougars v Warrington Wolves, Cougar Park, this afternoon, kick-off 3pm.
