Anderson unveiled as coach
Warrington Wolves have appointed Steve Anderson as the successor to Darryl Van de Velde. Steve Anderson will take over as Head Coach of the club with immediate effect. Anderson comes from the role of Performance Director at Leeds Rhinos.Anderson has an impeccable pedigree in Rugby League coaching and development, having served a fruitful apprenticeship under Chris Anderson at Melbourne and at International level. Anderson also has significant experience in youth and club development having been development officer for Queensland, Illawarra and Western Australia. A good mix of practical experience at the highest level and hands on coaching has seen Anderson progress and excel during his coaching career.As well as being a fully qualified and experienced Rugby League coach Anderson also has an impressive academic background with a degree in Sociology, Post Graduate studies in Psychology and Sociology and a graduate in Resource Management from Griffith University.Anderson has a wealth of coaching experience:- Assistant Coach - Australian National Side - 1998-2000

As Queensland Rugby League Coaching and Development Manager, Anderson was involved in the preparation of the State of Origin squads between 89 and 92.Steve Anderson commented on his appointment and his intentions for the club:"My intention for the rest of the season is to sit back and observe the present structure of the club and players, in particular those that are off contract. My focus will be on recruitment for next season."The future of development of the club is the policy of youth, which I have carried through out my coaching career. My goals are long term, not short term fixes."Lord Hoyle, the Chairman of Warrington commented,"I believe we have the we have got the right man for the job at last. Steve is one of the best young up and coming coaching specialists at present. This is what British Super League needs. Steve fits in with Warrington's requirements and has strong plans for the future of the club."
